There are many ways to free space from your HD: eliminate programs we don't usually use, empty the browser's cache,... however ioif you want that cleaning to be effective, you should search for the files that take the most space in your HD.

FosiX is a free application for Windows that will feature graphically on screen how the different files occupy your HD.

You choose, sectors or bars and you'll see which files are bigger and occupy more space in your HD. These views can be really useful, because sometimes we install a program but the original installer remains in our HD and we don't remember it. By this way, if you see that file, you only have to remove it, and you'll have those MBs again.
